Eloise Rose - Sun Platter
Description
"I have always mistaken the horizon for somewhere I needed to be." Painted around the rim in Eloise Rose's own handwriting, the words are lifted from the journals she fills on her travels. In the centre, a sun with two sleepy faces and long rays stretching out to the edge.
Eloise's work grows out of a love for old ceramics - the worn, the chipped, the pieces made by unknown hands - and a love of telling stories. She takes those historical designs and gives them a looser, more contemporary feel. It makes for really emotive pieces, and we felt that pull as soon as we saw them.
Made from terracotta earthenware and painted, glazed and fired by hand in her London studio. Hang it on a wall or stand it on a shelf.
