Eloise Rose - Moon Platter
Description
"Perhaps I belong somewhere between the cold water and the stars." Like all of Eloise Rose's platters, the line painted around this one comes from the journals she keeps while travelling. At the centre, two sleepy crescent faces tucked together on a starry, rain-streaked sky, all in blue.
Old pieces are where it all starts for Eloise. She loves the history in a well-used jug or a chipped plate, and reimagines it with a more playful hand. Every collection begins with a sketch and a story, and you can feel it in the finished piece. They're special, emotive pieces, and we were drawn to them the moment we saw them.
Handmade in terracotta earthenware, then painted, glazed and fired in her studio in south London. Hang it as an alternative to wall art, or lean it on a shelf or dresser.
