An unexpected colour combination that really shouldn't work, but it really, really does — two iridescent biwa freshwater pearls, strung alongside lemon jade gemstones and bright red and opal pink glass beads. A genuinely striking, midweight piece that looks just as good worn alone as layered with finer chains or chunkier pieces.

The Brand

Hattie Buzzard is the one-woman studio behind Hattie Buzzard Jewellery, working from her Buckinghamshire-based studio. The brand grew out of a fascination with colour and how it makes us feel — a curiosity she first explored while studying the science of colour during her knitwear design degree. Every piece is made in small, one-off batches, making each one completely unique, and any leftover clay is recycled into one-off marbled designs to keep waste low.

Iridescent biwa freshwater pearls with lemon jade gemstones, and bright red and opal pink glass beads. Findings in gold-filled metal.

Avoid wearing in water, while sleeping or exercising. Keep away from extreme heat and contact with perfumes, body lotions or other moisture. Store in a cool, dry place — ideally in the cotton pouch provided or an airtight container.
